Question 1

How early should I start preparing my pet for international travel?

Accepted Answer

Start at least 3–6 months before departure. Some destinations — Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii — require a rabies titer (FAVN) test with a waiting period of up to 3 months after the blood draw. Permits and endorsements also take time, so the earlier you register and upload records, the smoother the process.

Question 2

What documents does my pet need to fly internationally?

Accepted Answer

Most destinations require an ISO-compliant microchip, a current rabies vaccination, an international health certificate issued by a USDA-accredited veterinarian, and government endorsement of that certificate (e.g. USDA APHIS). Many countries also require an import permit, and some require rabies titer tests or parasite treatments. Pet Transit Tracker tracks each of these as a checklist step so nothing is missed.

Question 3

Does the microchip need to be implanted before the rabies vaccine?

Accepted Answer

Usually yes. Most countries require the microchip to be implanted before or on the same day as the rabies vaccination for the vaccine to be recognized. If your pet was vaccinated before being chipped, that vaccination may not count and could need to be repeated.

Question 4

How long is an international health certificate valid?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the destination. Many countries accept the certificate for only 10 days from the date the accredited veterinarian signs it, and airlines often require it within 10 days of travel as well. Pet Transit Tracker keeps the timing visible so you schedule the vet visit at the right moment.

Question 5

Will my pet have to go into quarantine?

Accepted Answer

For most moves from the United States to the EU, UK, and many other destinations, no — as long as the paperwork is correct and complete. Quarantine is typically only imposed by rabies-free destinations (such as Australia or New Zealand) or when documents are missing or invalid on arrival. Getting every step right before departure is exactly what Pet Transit Tracker is built for.

Question 6

Is my pet's information safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your documents are stored in a private, encrypted vault that is never publicly accessible. Sharing happens only through secure, expiring links you create and can revoke at any time. Staff and airline viewers see a read-only page with only the information their role requires.

Question 7

What does it cost?
